The Chatham School of Science and Engineering is continuing to grow and prosper as the first early college program in Chatham County Schools. Enrolling 9th grade students from across the district, the school provides students an opportunity to graduate with both a high school diploma and either an Associate's of Art, Associate's of Science or Associate's of Engineering.
The Chatham County School of Science & Engineering opened on August 15, 2016. We are currently in our 3rd year with a freshan, sophomore and junior class. Our building, CCI (Chatham Center for Innovation), currently houses 9th and 10th grade students. Our 11th, 12th and super senior students, will take 100% of their classes on the campus of Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro, NC. They will satisfy their remaining high school credits and earn college credit by taking college courses. 9th graders begin their first college courses in their second semester while our sophomores will take a seated-college course on the CCCC campus in Siler City.
As a growing program, we have only 30 slots for each class. Our recruitment begins in the fall of the school year and our selection concludes in March. Each interested student must complete a application and submit to an interview by a panel in order to be selected. Feel free to reach out to the school if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Dr Karla Eanes
Principal
