Superintendent's Office

  • To the parents, students, and staff of Chatham County:

Welcome back, Chatham County Schools families.

The 2022-2023 school term promises to be an amazing year of opportunities and experiences for students. The staff and I have been working hard this summer to ensure a smooth opening for you. We have some great things in store.

    • This year the district will launch our new strategic plan, ONE CHATHAM.  After input from hundreds of community members, employees and staff, this plan will guide the work of our district and each school over the next five years.

The goal of the plan is simple… As a community, we commit to prepare every student for the bright and prosperous future of their choice.

We are further excited about several program changes that will expand opportunities for students.

    • We are expanding our nationally recognized AVID program, to all of our middle and high schools.

    • We are expanding the fine arts options for students at Jordan Matthews and Chatham Central High Schools to include  Dance and Theater this year.

    • We are working extremely hard to hire amazing employees to help us serve you

    • A new  student code of conduct has been prepared to ensure that our schools operate safely and that expectations are clearly communicated

    • Parent, student and educator advisory groups have been formed and will meet throughout the year to provide voice and agency for each group.

These are exciting times in Chatham County. As we experience unprecedented growth and expansion of opportunities, we remain humbled and grateful to you as we partner to prepare students for bright and prosperous futures.

We are going to have an outstanding year in Chatham County Schools, thanks to the hard work of our students and staff. I am excited to embark on this journey with you and look forward to seeing the progress we make. We are One Chatham, preparing ALL of our students for bright and prosperous futures by inspiring learning and by empowering ALL learners,

    Honored to serve,

    Dr. Anthony D. Jackson, Superintendent
