Progress reports should go home on Wednesday. Please review your child’s academic progress and discuss strengths and area(s) for growth with your child. Also, don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teachers with any questions/concerns you may have.
The PTA has a few spirit wear shirts left for sale. We have youth and adult sizes and all shirts are short sleeved. Please call the office or send a note with your child if you are interested in purchasing a shirt. All shirts are $12.00.

The District Calendar Committee with representatives from every school is in the process of developing two draft 2018-2019 school calendars* to present to the Board of Education (BOE) for their consideration. Calendar A includes 180 instructional days for students, and Calendar B includes 178 instructional days. Click (HERE - Option A) (HERE - Option B) to view a copy of the draft calendars. Click HERE to provide feedback to the District Calendar Committee. Please note that the committee will only be able to consider suggestions that comply with the state calendar law. The deadline to submit feedback is January 26, 2018.
*The Chatham Center for Innovation (CCI) will adhere to a different calendar to be established at a later date.

Dear Siler City Elementary School Families,
I want to remind you all that End of Grade testing will occur as follows:
The reading EOG for 3-5 graders will take place on May 25th
The math EOG for 3-5 graders will take place on May 30th
The 5th grade Science EOG will be on Friday, June 1st
It is critical that you make every effort for students to be at school on time each of these days rested and ready to work hard. Please plan accordingly and let us know if you have questions.
Also, on June 12th, 13th, and 14th, students who do not pass the End of Grade tests on their first attempt will have an opportunity to retake the test. There will be a full day of school for these students. Bus transportation, lunch and breakfast will be provided. More information to follow soon, but please do not make vacation plans on these dates if you have a child in grades 3-5.
Kindergarten Cap and Gown pictures will be take on Thursday, May 3rd. Please check your child’s backpack for information.
Siler City Elementary will be having a clean up day again on our campus on May 3rd from 3:30-5:30. Please make plans to come out and help us. Pizza will be served for participants at 5:30.
5th grade parents, Chatham Middle School will be holding an information session for all rising 6th graders on May 3 at 6:00 p.m. at Chatham Middle School. Please plan on attending to help your child be better prepared for middle school.
