Section 504

Student race
  • Section 504 is a civil rights law and part of the Rehabilitation Act that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities. Section 504 ensures that a child with a disability has equal access to an education and outlines measures to help remove any barriers to learning. The child may receive accommodations and modifications that are needed to perform at the same level as their peers. Section 504 does not require schools to provide an individualized education program. Please contact the Guidance Counselor at your child's school if you have any questions about your child's needs under Section 504.
