2015-2016 Course Guide Chatham County Schools:Credit by Demonstrated MasteryRegistering for classes also means we are approaching another opportunity for interested students to attempt Credit by Demonstrated Mastery. Please direct interested students (and parents) to the application, which is available online through the following link: Student & Family Guide to Credit by Demonstrated MasteryApplications should be returned to the school by Monday, January 25.Chatham County School of Science and EngineeringOn Thursday, January 7 the State Board of Education approved our application to open an 'early college high school' with CCCC as our partner institution. However, there are very important funding issues to be resolved at the state level before this becomes officially-official. The implication (if funding is approved) is that we would work directly with 8th grade counselors during April and May to recruit a cohort of 25 to 30 rising 9th graders from all across the school system to become the inaugural class for the Chatham County School of Science and Engineering. Again, additional funding decisions by the state must occur before this becomes a reality. I am including this update at this time so that everyone knows where we are in this process of starting the early college high school.
