Chatham Middle Highlights

Principal's Message

  • Parents,

We had another first day of school for our students as A Day and B Day students returned for 4 days of face-to-face learning for the first time this school year. It was great seeing our classrooms with students learning! During the school day, students and staff will continue wearing face coverings along with social distancing in the classroom. We want our students and staff to remain safe and take precautions. It will be important for parents to monitor their children's health for signs and symptoms and keep children home that may be sick. We want to prevent the spread as much as possible and parents play a key role.

It will not be long until the end of the school year will be upon us and decisions about student placement for the next school year will take place. I want to encourage parents to discuss with their child grades and completing assignments during the last nine weeks. Students not meeting promotion standards will have the opportunity to attend 6 weeks of summer school. Students must pass math, language arts, and science or social studies to be promoted to the next grade level. We want all of our students to work hard and be successful.

Although the end of May seems far away unfortunately it is right around the corner. We will be administering the End of Grade Tests in math, language arts, and 8th grade science this school year. We will be sharing more information about testing as we get closer to the dates.

We look forward to ending the school year strong and safe! I want to say "Thank you" to our parents for helping make this school year possible. It takes everyone working together to help our students grow.

    Thank you,

    Mr. Morgan
