Chatham Middle Highlights

Principal's Message

    Chatham Middle Parents,

We are getting ready to wrap up the first nine weeks of the school year on Wednesday, Oct. 26th. Report cards will be distributed on Nov. 9th through email. Please make sure your email is up-to-date so you will receive your child's report card. If you need a paper copy of your child's report card, please contact the school. It will be important to go over your child's report card and if you have any questions please reach out to your child's teacher.

It is that time of the year to remind your child about appropriate behaviors at school. We want to make sure students are in the classroom and ready to learn every day. If you have questions about the CMS School Wide Behavior Plan, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Avery, assistant principal.

We had a successful Fall Sports Season and I would like to thank our athletes for their hard work on the field. Also, I am proud of how they represented Chatham Middle on and off the field. Winter Sports will begin soon and I want to remind all students that want to play basketball or cheerleading that they must pass Language Arts, Math, and Science or Social Studies. Students not passing will not be allowed to try out. Also, students with attendance issues will not be able to participate.

If your child is trying out for sports this coming school year, it will be important to get a physical completed by your child's doctor. You can find the physical forms on our school website under the Student Tab by clicking on Athletics.

I want to encourage parents to get their children the COVID vaccine or booster. This is the best way to protect your children and family as we continue the school year.

I want to encourage parents to get involved in school. There are several opportunities. We are looking for a parent to serve as the PTA president. Our current PTA president moved on to high school with her child and it leaves this position open. I want parents to have a voice in the direction of our school. We cannot make our school the best learning community without participation. If you are interested, please email me directly or contact the front office.

    Thank you,
    Mr. Morgan
