There were some technical issues with prospective SFHS students within Chatham County Schools receiving emails directly to their CCS stumail account. The issues have been rectified, and a repeat message related to the interest survey and the April 20th "The Vision of Seaforth" virtual presentation. Enjoy your break, and we'll provide any updates after April 11th.
This evening will serve as the last update until after Spring Break. An email/phone message went out to all SFHS families this evening with an update on "The Vision of Seaforth" being rescheduled for April 20th at 7:00 p.m., as well as a reminder to complete the extracurricular activity interest survey by April 13th. Missed the email/phone message? Take a look.
UPDATE (NEW DATE): What's the vision of Seaforth? Where will it all begin? What's been going on since Principal Crayton started? Seaforth will virtually host "The Vision of Seaforth" on Tuesday, April 20th at 7:00 p.m. More info to come but go ahead and save the date. We'll also discuss extracurricular activities, athletics, and ideas with giving tours on campus once we are given the green light to have groups on school campuses again. SFHS will continue sharing info on the website, Twitter, and Blackboard. We are working on setting up Blackboard for communicating directly with families.
The first interest survey for students slated to attend Seaforth was sent to student and parent email addresses directly this morning. The survey was only sent to current CCS families attending SFHS next year. Didn't get a survey because your child will be enrolling to attend next year once the opportunity is available? Complete this brief survey to be added to our listserve, and the survey will be sent directly to you. Keep in mind that Spring Break is April 2nd-April 11th, and additional surveys will not be sent during this time.
Have you thought about Marching Band, Color Guard, or anything associated with the band during the first year at Seaforth? We're getting you pumped and ready to be a part of something majestic. Didn't sign up during registration through Northwood? You'll have a chance to reconsider your course selections once a final determination of all course offerings is available. Get ready for some chills...
Did you not receive the first phone/email message that went out on the evening of March 28th? No problem. Take a look.
The first interest survey for SFHS students/families will go out on Monday, March 29th. Students slated to attend SFHS should complete the survey as we continue to plan for extracurricular offerings, including athletics, arts programs, honor societies, etc. As we continue planning for the 2021-2022 school year, we will offer several interest surveys to students planning to attend Seaforth High School over the coming weeks. These surveys are not meant to imply that the activity will be offered during the first year. However, by gathering information now, we can better plan in anticipation of students starting in August. Want a sneak peek of the survey? Here you go.
Seaforth will be hosting a Dual Language Parent/Student Night, showcasing the opportunities DL in high school can bring. We are tentatively scheduling the virtual event for Tuesday, May 4th at 7:00 p.m. Representatives from Jordan-Matthews High School will plan to join us that evening to provide you with information on how the national and state-recognized program operates, as we continue to look to hire at SFHS for the 2021-2022 school year. Having worked as Principal at Jordan-Matthews High School and working with the DL program during my time there, I anticipate great things from our DL students during Searforth's first year. We will share more information as we get closer.
Don't forget to check out our course offerings and DL video for some of the scheduling basics.
If you are planning to enroll at Seaforth once the enrollment process begins after April 19th, and you want information on happenings at Seaforth, please complete this brief survey so you can be added to our communication group. Information will not be shared other than with the school. Students already in Chatham County Schools and have been assigned to Seaforth do NOT need to complete this form.
Have you ever wanted the opportunity to be a part of a new school, working with a great group of students with a supportive community and dedicated professionals? Seaforth is looking for you! Positions are currently posted for anticipated openings for the 2021-2022 school year. Additional positions will be posted as decisions are made. We're looking for teachers, support staff, bus drivers, custodians, child nutrition workers, coaches, and more. If you're ready to roll up your sleeves and help make the new school come alive, make sure you apply directly through AppliTrack. Applications will only be considered, so make sure you upload documents for review. Even if not interested in SFHS, there are a number of opportunities to be involved with Chatham County Schools. Be involved, be engaged, and be part of something special. #WeAreSeaforth
