Moncure School will be holding 2 open houses again this year. The first open house will be for kindergarten through grade 4 students and will be held on Tuesday, August 21 from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM. The second open house will be for grade 5 through grade 8 and will be held on Thursday, August 23 from 5:00PM until 6:30 PM. Looking forward to seeing you then!

Student Athletes are REQUIRED to work a set number of hours at the PTA Thrift Shop of based on the number of sports they play:
1 sport = 9 REQUIRED work hours at the Thrift Shop
2 sports = 12 hours
3 or more sports = 15 hours
Students will be required to work at least 3 of these hours prior to start each sports season. Therefore, if you are wanting to play any sports in the 2018-2019 school year, plan to get those hours worked as soon as possible. Hours that are worked beginning July 1, 2018 are applied to the 2018-2019 school year. During the months of July and August all thrift shop hours earned are doubled, so this is an excellent time to get all your athletic hours taken care of before the school year begins.
Moncure School Thrift Shop work nights are every Tuesday night and will continue throughout the summer. Worknights begin at 5:30pm at the Pittsboro PTA thrift shop. The PTA Thrift shop is our primary fundraiser for the school year. We are paid back for each hour worked for our school and this is how we purchase athletic needs (uniforms, scoreboards, equipment and supplies) as well as fund other PTA projects, classroom needs, technology and supplies throughout middle and elementary grades.
Moncure is currently accepting Pre-K applications for the 2018-2019 school year. Children are required to be 4 years old by August 31st, 2018 to be eligible for Pre-K. Please contact the front office to pick up an application.
Kindergarten Registration for next school year is now open. Any child that will be 5 years old by August 31st, 2018 is eligible for Kindergarten next year. Please call (919-542-3725) or stop by the front office if you have a child to register. A birth certificate, 2 proofs of residency and immunization records are required for registration.
